AlhamduLILLAH, I have my own computer again!

MashaALLAH,

It has been so stressful since my computer was damaged and I’m sure you’ve noticed that I lost interest in blogging for a while. I was sort of hopping back and forth between my husband’s computer (a Mac) and the classroom computer (has Vista) and that was just not working for me.

I’ve collected some notebooking pages over the years from the Currclick and Notebooking Pages websites and we are now starting to use them. We use them for all sorts of things, like geography, seerah, science, hadith, you name it. My daughter is really responding to the various writing and coloring assignments so I think we’ll keep it up, InshaALLAH.

Recently, we completed a page for Saudi Arabia and one for India as well. I let her search through our country books to find the info and then she traces the map from her atlas.

I didn’t think about the tracing part for Saudi, but I remembered in time for India.

We also labeled the surrounding countries and a few bodies of water. Later on, I asked her to recall the surrounding countries and she did it with no problem! It’s a fun way to learn geography because she loves to draw and it seems to stick in her mind that way. It’s still a work in process, but I think we might include the major bodies of water in the countries the next time, InshaALLAH.

I changed our word line in the classroom as well. We are now memorizing the 99 Names of ALLAH so I’ve added the first fifteen so that we may learn them this week, InshaALLAH. Make du’a for us. I’d like to keep up with these as best as I can.
